Midsummer Open
The annual Midsummer Open Doubles Event - sponsored by Impact Techniques (Ironville) Ltd and supported Knight Security Services (UK) and Blueline Homes Ltd - was a great success.
The Winners were John Colbourne and Ian Johnson (from Old Whittington BC) and the Runners up were Steven and Josh Hall. The Mick Bourne Trophy was presented by RBC President Eddie Springer.
Our thanks are due to all 64 participants for an excellent standard of bowling, which was a pleasure to watch - and to David Hayton and team who organised the event so well.
The 'in house' catering team and bar did a wonderful job - providing refreshments all day on request as well as a delicious buffet tea.
Police v Wharfedale
Rykneld were delighted to host the home leg of a league match between the U.K. Police Federation and Airedale & Wharfedale Bowling Club.
Both teams were well supported and we did our level best to make them feel at home.
Breakfast was served throughout the day - by the dedicated Rykneld catering team.
Many thanks go to the two team captains - Kevin Penny from U.K. Police and Steve Griffiths from Airedale & Wharfedale for organising their teams and staging a great competition which was a joy to watch.
A great bunch of people and we would definitely welcome them back next year.
