Environmental update
The club’s management committee is very environmentally conscious, and has previously taken steps to reduce the club’s energy consumption - by the installation of LED floodlights (and all other lights), double glazing, external cladding to the rear wall of the clubhouse and ceiling mounted infrared panels.

On the 18 March, contractors from Marvel Heating & Renewable Energy Limited, installed solar panels and batteries - enabling surplus electricity generated to be returned to the National Grid. There is no gas supply to the club, and it is conservatively estimated that solar panels will reduce the club’s annual electricity consumption by some 50%.

Funding for the entire solar panel project was generously provided by the Derbyshire Environmental Trust through the Landfill Communities Fund – and the club is extremely grateful for this, as without it the project could not have been undertaken.
